Royal National Mod Winners 2018!

With road closures, ferry cancellations and illness we wondered if our group members would even make it to Dunoon to take part in The Royal National Mod! After several months of rehearsals, Saturday, 13th October dawned wet and dreich. However, we need not have worried. Nothing was going to keep us from getting up on that stage and taking part in ‘The Adult Fiddle Group’ competition. Here are some of them getting ready for the stage! Must say they are looking pretty relaxed!

Several months of rehearsals and dozens of hours of practicing at home have paid off.  We are the proud winners of The Dr and Mrs Atholl Robertson (Oban) Trophy! (and £50 prize money). Well done! all those who took part and thanks to all our supporters.

Also, Skye Beautyman, one of our junior members, won a Bronze medal in her competition! What an achievement for our workshop.

We all had a great day and are now thinking ahead to next year’s competition!
