Great Night!

Our first Burns Supper and what a great night it was! On Wednesday 24th January, workshop members and friends met in Strachur Hall to celebrate Burns Night with music, song, food and even a dram. As well as fiddles there were guitars, mandolins, mouthie and concertina. We played many of Burns tunes and were delighted to have Alison Duncan, John Kelly and John Thomson sing.

The haggis was brought in to the accompaniment of our tutor Mairi Voinot’s fiddle and Maureen Brankin did a fabulous address to it, actions included! After a delicious fare of haggis, neeps and tatties followed by a choice of puddings, courtesy of Teresa, we all sat around and enjoyed some more playing and singing.

Thanks to all who helped and attended. More photos can be seen in the gallery.
