Christmas Party and more

The committee would like to thank all of you who managed to attend the Christmas party. With dimmed lights and the Christmas tree twinkling, the atmosphere was quite seasonal. The Secret Santa was exciting with Alison insisting we open our presents there and then! The spread was delicious and we even played a few tunes! As well as our tutor Mike, there were players from each of our current classes plus several from previous years.
Classes
Classes resume on Tuesday, 8th January in the school and Wednesday 9th January in Strachur Hall. Usual times. In the event of adverse weather etc, information will be put on the website so please check it before coming out to classes. Evie has in the past sent texts / emails / etc to all members but this is very time consuming.
Innovation

Time12-3pm, bring a sandwich, we will provide teas. The committee hope to make these sessions a regular occurrence, depending on how well this one goes.
On Saturday, 9th February we will have short workshops with Glasgow Fiddle Workshop tutor, Jamie Smith. Those who attended the Bruce MacGregor event will remember Jamie. It is thought that the workshops will be tailored to each level ie Improver, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate etc. each lasting 1 – 11/2 hrs. Booking will be required. Cost approx £10 per class, depending on numbers. Details to be confirmed.
Jamie was one of many youngsters who attended classical music summer schools held in Castle Toward. The Castle is changing ownership and is hosting a final concert on Sunday 16th December in which he is participating. Places are limited and booking is required. Tel 01369 870249.
