Fiona studied violin from the age of 11 under local instructor Debbie Ross and regularly attended courses put on by the Gaelic arts organisation she now manages, Fèis Rois. Fiona developed an interest in the Gaelic language through her involvement with Fèis Rois and she went onto study Celtic Studies at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with MA (Hons) in 2005.

After an enjoyable eight years in Edinburgh, Fiona has returned to the Highlands and is based in Inverness.
